About Christine Smith

Christine was born in Southampton, England and left there when she was 19 years old to explore the world. She went to Toronto, for one year and stayed for nearly 20! After a career with Via Rail in the Safety and Security department she decided to carry on with her travels that had been put on hold.

To this end, she went to the Greek Island of Ios, where she worked on a beach for 2 seasons and then back packed through Europe. She then traveled to Australia, where she thought she would settle, however, after arriving in Melbourne and traveling around the country she realized, Canada was the best place in the world to live. From Australia, Christine back packed through, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and India where she was fortunate enough to meet Mother Theresa. She worked for a time in the homes established by Mother Theresa to look after the sick.

After traveling for 2 1/5 years Christine went to England to look after her parents for 7 years. Upon returning to Canada, she decided to leave Toronto and move to Collingwood. She chose the Collingwood area because of the Bay and the ski hills and the abundance of nice restaurants, shops and culture which she couldn't find in any other small town in Ontario. She feels this has been her wisest move ever and although moving here on her own and knowing no one she has made many good friends and has a great life here.

Christine wanted to be a realtor for many years but didn't have the opportunity while advancing her career with Via. Once settled here, she got her realtors and brokers license and has been selling real estate in the Georgian Triangle since 2005. She says it is the best job ever, she loves meeting new people and feels that this career is the most rewarding career she could have chosen.
